I had plenty of practice with that on a old Ford 860 power master and narrow front allis chamler . The 3 bottom plow on the Ford also needed the steering brakes.

More interested in the ts10. My son and I just brush hogged roughly 21 acres over 24 hrs using a Kubota 2501 and 5’ fmc pull behind.

We used to run Farmalls with narrow front ends. Steering assist with the individual wheel brakes was almost a necessity.

Now that’s something I can show my father on his 45hp tractor!

thanks Tim for reminding me I need to brush hog my fields. my field that I can see from my window, I can see it is about 4-5 foot tall.

Good video…I’ve been using an old Ford 5’ shredder (undersized) on my Kubota MX, which really should have a 6 or 7’ cutter. Was curious what a 1’ upgrade would save me, but WOW are the prices high. Interesting - if I found $ 20 in the field EVERY HOUR I shredded, I would pay for it in 10 years. I shred 5 1/2 acres three times a year. If I only counted the time savings between a 5’ and 6’, it would take me 30 years to pay for it….I will either be dead in 30 years or forget to care about grass. If ya will give me that Rhino 6’ cutter, I will bring ya some BBQ🤔

Hey Tim, in the spiirt of asking someone experienced and wiser, I'd like to ask your opinion ; In prior videos I'd noticed you using an impact wrench when doing work on tractors etc. So, it got me thinking (as I'm looking at cordless tools, and never used an impact driver/wrench before) ; How could one determine what Torque one might end up using for DIY around the home, small holding and any future compact tractors? I guess, simply put; What sort of torque amounts do you find most common with your range of tractors?

If you can work it into a slot, you can push way more than two buckets. Look up dozer slot pushing and it’ll show you what I mean. You can move a ton of dirt way faster pushing it versus piss anting one bucket at a time!

Tim get youself a good 40 volt battery leaf blower to blow out your radiator and the whole tractor. I have serval battery tools and the 40 volt stuff is better all around to use.

My neighbor has been using a reverse tiller for more than 20 years in the same direction , he reverses across to the far side then tills to the near side . Now his land dips on the far side and is mounded up on the near side.

Watch out in that tall grass, Ticks have been super bad this year.

The crimper is a neat tool to have! Great that the two hose set up for the cylinders takes care of the binding issue.

Love this series of videos, it’s very interesting to me. I am very curious to see how the ventrac stacks up against the rear PTO style cutters from a time perspective. I bet it’s much faster with the trimming, but I wonder if it loses out on the long straight runs. What a blessing it is to have that property, and all of these different setups, at your disposal. Thanks for the hard work Tim and Christy.

the ventrac is always good to watch the idea you had with a bigger older tractor and the 15 foot flex wing be interesting to watch also

Love this channel and wanted a smaller (compact) tractor for little and quick projects around the house. We only have 158 acres. 50 is ag farm and the old back 100 acre cattle pasture is just used for hunting now so it isn't maintained. After looking at the 10 and 20 series JDs I had to ask myself, are these really tractors??? They are the size of my riding lawn mower. I ended up purchasing a 2024 JD 3025E and even feel like that is a matchbox toy compared to our other tractor.

I’m a 9 1/2 acres with my coyote CX 2510 and a 5 foot brush hog it took me 15 1/2 hours because the grass was over 8 feet tall just saying you can get it done with any tractor long as you try

No pullout screen in front of the radiator under the hood? That’s ridiculous. I can’t believe JD didn’t include that on that machine 😮. I notice cut quality is a lot better when the material is not as tall with my Woods BB60.30 rotary cutter too. If you keep it mowed to 4” and don’t let it get over a foot, it looks almost like lawn. Thigh to waist high and you end up with stragglers, even going slow. Interesting numbers! Fuel consumption is function of work done (HP demand). The momentum of the longer blade once it’s spinning plus the shorter material probably had less load on the engine/less power demand. The engine itself may have a higher thermal efficiency too.

I vote for the flail mower.

The Ventrac finish mower decks are super tough. I want to see the 8’ wide area mower at highest position go through this!
